The TWU SFCE is a Super Folk guitar, also known as a Grand Auditorium. With a size that fits somewhere between a Dreadnought guitar and the Grand Concert, the TWU SFCE delivers the best of both worlds with great sound across the spectrum while being perfectly suited for both picking and strumming.

Mahogany back and sides with a solid Mahogany top mean with a natural satin finish give the TWU SFCE a great look and amazing tone that will get better with age and use.

A cutaway in the body of the guitar allows for easy reach of the higher frets; perfect for easy reach of the higher frets.

Attached to the body is a Mahogany neck holding an Eboncore fretboard. Eboncore is a composite material which is used in place of woods that are becoming less sustainable, but it gives the fantastic, smooth playing feel of an Ebony fretboard.

Great Features and Electronics

At the headstock, you’ll find a set of chrome die cast machine heads offering easy tuning of your strings.

Down on the body there’s a Black Walnut bridge topped with an ABS Ivory saddle, providing great transfer of vibration from your strings into the resonating solid Mahogany top of the TWU SFCE.

Allowing you to play live and loud, the Tanglewood Union TWU SFCE is equipped with a Tanglewood TW-EX4 pickup and preamp system.

The electronics feature a 4-band EQ with easy-to-use sliders allowing you to adjust the bass, mid, treble and presence independently while a volume control allows you to adjust the overall level.

For added convenience, there’s also a built-in digital chromatic tuner so you can tune your strings whenever you need to without having to carry around an external tuner.

Furthermore, a low battery indicator light will let you know when it’s getting time to change the batteries, making sure you’re never caught in a sticky situation mid-gig.
